Health and Safety Policy
At Global Street Art, we prioritise the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, visitors, and the public. We are committed to conducting our business in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all. To achieve this, we require full cooperation from everyone involved with our organisation.
Responsibilities
• Every individual has a legal duty to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others affected by their actions.
• Employees must familiarise themselves with and comply with health and safety procedures.
• Any serious hazards or safety concerns must be reported to a manager immediately.
• All incidents, including near misses, should be reported to help prevent future accidents.
• Employees must cooperate with investigations into workplace incidents.
• All equipment and substances should be used strictly in accordance with provided information and training.
When working with young people (under 18), extra care should be taken to account for their lack of experience and awareness of risks.
General Health and Safety Principles
• Always be aware of your surroundings and move carefully—rushing can lead to accidents.
• Ensure you fully understand any equipment before using it independently.
• When lifting heavy objects, keep your back straight and seek assistance if necessary.
• Maintain a tidy workspace to prevent accidents.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and ear protectors when required.
• Do not use machinery without proper training or attempt to clean equipment while it is in operation.
• Never tamper with safety equipment, machine guards, or electrical wiring.
• Ensure that exits and doorways remain unobstructed at all times.
Accident Reporting
All workplace incidents, no matter how minor, must be reported to a manager and recorded. This enables us to investigate causes and prevent future occurrences. In the event of a serious incident, the company’s safety officer must be informed immediately so appropriate action can be taken.
If you identify a safety risk that you cannot resolve, notify a manager immediately.
Fire Safety
Fire presents a significant risk to people and property. Employees must cooperate with fire safety procedures and report any hazards, such as faulty wiring. Employees should never attempt electrical repairs unless authorised to do so.
To reduce fire risks:
• Keep escape routes clear at all times.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Regularly dispose of combustible waste.
• Keep ignition sources away from flammable materials.
First Aid
All employees will be informed of first aid box locations and designated first aid personnel. If first aid assistance is required, employees should seek help immediately.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Where required, employees must wear PPE at all times and ensure it is in good condition. Any defective or missing PPE should be reported without delay.
Smoke-free Workplace
Global Street Art operates a strict smoke-free policy. Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes, is prohibited in all enclosed and substantially enclosed areas, including company vehicles. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, and volunteers. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
Commitment to Safety
We are dedicated to continuously improving our health and safety standards. This policy will be regularly reviewed, and training will be provided as necessary to ensure compliance and awareness.
Your safety is our priority. We expect all individuals associated with Global Street Art to uphold these standards and contribute to a safe working environment for everyone.
