We were thrilled to work with international artist eL Seed for a mighty 10 storey public artwork for London Mural Festival 2024. Titled 'Spring always comes back' the mural is a celebration of community and resilience, located on a South East London housing estate.

eL Seed is a contemporary artist whose practice bridges painting and sculpture, developing a unique visual language inspired by the tradition of calligraphy and the energy of urban art. His work is characterised by intricate layers of color, symbols and letters that convey universal messages about coexistence, peace and freedom.

An artist with community at his heart, eL Seed seeks to echo stories from the people he meets around the world in his artworks. For this mural, he asked local residents to call out their names, which he then used to form the 'squiggle grid' system to help map out his mural design, embedding them forever as a part of this iconic public artwork.

Standing at 10 storeys high, eL Seed's mural "Spring always comes back" is an unmissable site-specific artwork, celebrating community and resilience. The title is inspired by a quote from Chilean poet Pablo Neruda "You can cut all the flowers, but you cannot keep spring from coming."
    We worked with local resident groups, councils and communities to find eL Seed the perfect wall for his first mural in London for London Mural Festival 2024. The vivid blue even had to be specially sourced from paint partners yescolours.
